Information Ebb collects
When you create an account, Ebb may collect your name, email address and account identifiers needed to provide your account.
When you use the journal, Ebb stores information you choose to enter, which may include pain intensity, affected body areas, duration, triggers, dates and times, pain-free days and optional free-text notes.
How we use your information
Your information is used to provide Ebb’s core features, including saving and syncing your journal, displaying your history and trends, generating structured insights from your journal data, and creating Pain Reports you choose to share.
Ebb does not use your journal information to diagnose conditions or provide treatment recommendations.
Cloud storage and account services
Ebb uses Supabase to provide account authentication, database storage and cloud synchronization. Journal data may be transmitted to and stored with this service so that your account and history can be restored when you sign in.
Insights
Ebb may calculate structured insights from information in your journal, such as changes in event frequency, average pain, commonly recorded triggers and commonly recorded body areas. The current version does not send your journal data to an external generative AI service to create these insights.
Pain Reports and sharing
Ebb can generate a Pain Report from your journal. A report is shared only when you choose to use the device’s share functionality. You are responsible for choosing the recipient and sharing method.
Notifications
If you enable daily reminders, Ebb may schedule local notifications on your device. You can change or disable reminders in the app’s settings or your device settings.
Data we do not sell
We do not sell your personal information or journal data to advertisers. Ebb does not display third-party advertising.
Data retention and deletion
Your cloud journal data is associated with your Ebb account. You can initiate deletion from within the app by choosing Delete Account & Data. Account deletion permanently removes the account and associated cloud journal data, subject to any limited retention that may be required for security, legal or operational purposes.
Security
We use reasonable technical measures intended to protect Ebb account and journal information. No system can guarantee absolute security, and you should protect access to your email account and device.
Children
Ebb is not designed specifically for children. If applicable law requires parental or guardian consent for a person to use a service like Ebb, that consent should be obtained before use.
Medical disclaimer
Ebb is a personal tracking tool and is not a medical device, diagnostic service or substitute for professional medical advice. If you have an urgent medical concern, contact an appropriate healthcare professional or emergency service.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Ebb changes. The date at the top of this page will indicate the latest revision.
